I'm off to Africa in May 2010 with the Stephen Lewis Foundation!
Follow me as I travel to South Africa and Swaziland as part of a group of 43 Canadians. We're all members of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign and raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation's projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
We're going to:
* visit SLF projects in South Africa
* travel to Swaziland
* help run a conference of African grandmothers
* march in solidarity with over 2000 African grandmothers to publicise their need for support, attention, and respect as they raise grandchildren orphaned by AIDS.
* celebrate with the marchers, sharing dances, songs and stories.
* come home to spread the word about the indomitable spirit of these inspiring African grandmothers.
